IDU Real Life Solution

Architectural Firm | 7 Partners

Partner incomes are $1M and above annually – including base salary and incentive compensation.

Current Coverage:

  • Employer provided Group LTD and Domestic IDI

    • Coverage up to 65% of income replacement with combined benefits of $20,000 per month.

 

The Problem:

  • Due to high income levels the partners have insufficient income replacement levels of approximately 25%.

IDU’s Solution:

  • High Limit DI providing 65% of total compensation less the underlying Group LTD and IDI coverage

  • Monthly Benefit amounts for the seven partners ranged from $34,000 to $50,000 

  • 90-Day Elimination Period

  • 10-Year Benefit Period

  • True own occupation definition of disability

  • Residual Benefit Rider and COLA Rider included

The IDU plan was implemented by using a census enroll approach of a single employer application and signed offer letter.
